Aiken Technical College has an open-door admission policy. This means the College admits all adult citizens who can benefit from available learning opportunities.

In order to enroll at ATC, applicants:

Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must participate in placement testing prior to acceptance.

Applicants who require additional preparation for college-level work must enroll in developmental courses to develop the necessary basic skills in English, reading and mathematics.

The College reserves the right to refuse readmission to any applicant who has an unacceptable academic or conduct record. Individuals with financial obligations to the College must resolve these obligations before they will be allowed to register for classes.

Individual programs may have additional admission requirements. Information on such requirements may be obtained from the Admissions and Records Office or a program advisor. See also Special Admissions categories.

	Apply for Admission
	Submit High School Transcript or GED
	Apply for Financial Aid
	Complete ATC Placement Test or submit acceptable SAT (480 verbal/440 math)/ACT scores (19 composite score)
	Meet with Counseling Services for orientation and advisement
	Go to Self-Registration Center (SRC) for WebAdvisor training and release for registration
	Register for classes using WebAdvisor (see Course Schedule for dates)
	Pay for tuition (via Cash/Credit Card, Financial Aid, Deferred Tuition Payment Plan, VA)
	Purchase books
	Attend classes

	Apply for Admission
	Submit High School Transcript or GED
	Apply for Financial Aid
	Submit official college transcript(s) (for admission and transfer credit evaluation)
	Schedule appointment with advisor to select courses (see Course Schedule for dates)
	Go to Self-Registration Center (SRC) for WebAdvisor training
	Register for classes using WebAdvisor (see Course Schedule for dates)
	Pay for tuition (via Cash/Credit Card, Financial Aid, Deferred Tuition Payment Plan, VA)
	Purchase books
	Attend classes

	Apply for Admission (this applies to students who have not attended ATC in the last year)
	Apply for Financial Aid
	Submit official college transcripts, if applicable
	Schedule appointment with advisor to select courses (see Course Schedule for dates)
	Go to Self-Registration Center (SRC) for WebAdvisor training
	Pay for tuition (via Cash/Credit Card, Financial Aid, Deferred Tuition Payment Plan, VA)
	Purchase books
	Attend classes

	Apply for Admission and submit form (to the Admissions and Records office) specifying courses to be taken at ATC
	Register for classes – see the Admissions and Records office
	Go to Self-Registration Center (SRC) for WebAdvisor training
	Pay tuition – Cashier’s office
	Purchase books
	Attend classes
	After completing courses at ATC, request official transcripts be sent to primary college
